High mountains are calling with the Col du Soulor and a finish on the Col du Tourmalet at 2115m above sea level.

The focus of Unknown Tour today isn’t actually on the stage though, but you can see it for a long time during a part of it. While the peloton slowly grinds it way up the Col du Soulor, if they look to their right they will see the road connecting the Col du Soulor, where they are heading, to the Col d’Aubisque, also known as the Cirque du Litor. This is by far the greatest stretch of road this writer has had the privilege of riding. From the dark, damp and unlit tunnel, with a dog leg, so you can’t see the exit immediately, for the first 50 meters you just have to have faith that it is there, to the cliffs, the views and of course the challenge of the climb. One word to describe it is majestic.
