Stage 10 and one of those days fans and riders will assume is for sprinters, but look closer at the profile and you realise it isn’t going to be straightforward as it’s lumpy most of the day.

One feature of the stage that may be missed is an early unmarked climb which begins just after the race passes the famous Viaduc de Garabit which was constructed by Gustave Eiffel. Once they cross the river Truyère all admiration of the bridge should be quickly dissipated as the climbing begins up the Côte de Faverolles. This will shape the day as it is 6Km at around 5% and if strongmen get in the days break then it is going to be difficult to control and guarantee a sprint.
